Early Life of Dilip Kumar

Dilip Kumar was born into a landlord and fruit merchant family on December 11, 1922, in the Kissa Khwani Bazar area of Peshawar, British India.

He was one of the twelve children of Lala Ghulam Sarwar Khan and his wife, Ayesha Begum.

His real name was Mohammad Yusuf Khan, his father was a fruit merchant who then owned a fruit orchard near Deolali, near Nashik, and later in Peshawar.

Mohammad Yusuf Khan had his schooling at Barnes School, Deolali, Nashik.

Raj Kapoor, his childhood friend and future film industry friend, grew up in the same religiously mixed neighbourhood as himself.

During the making of Tarana, Dilip Kumar fell in love with Madhubala. They have been together for almost seven years.

Their relationship came to an end due to the Flim Naya Daur court case. Madhubala's father did not agree to the notorious location.

The earlier clothes of an actress were torn by the crowd at that location, but the director wanted to shoot at a particular location.

Dilip Kumar also supported the film's director and gave his witness statement in court against Madhubala and her father, which ended their relationship.

Filmi Career

Dilip Kumar's first film was Jwar Bhata, which was released in 1944, but this film could not be successful.

After several unsuccessful films, the film Jugnu released in 1947 proved to be the first super hit in which he worked with Noor Jahan.

The next year, in 1948, two of his films were super hits; they were Shaheed and Mela. In the same way, his films continued to grow.

Personal Life

Due to the Naya Daur court case, during which Kumar ended their relationship by giving testimony against Madhubala and her father,.

They never worked together again after Mughal-e-Azam (1960). Film magazines connected Vyjayanthimala's name with Kumar in the late 1950s.

This had to do with the fact that he acted more with Vyjayanthimala than the other actresses, resulting in their famous on-screen chemistry.

While working for his home production, Ganga Jamuna (1961), he chose the shade of sari that Vyjayanthimala is seen wearing in every scene.

In fact, Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala's affair has been "verified" by cinema journalists Buny Reuben and Sanjeet Narvekar, who claim that Vyjayanthimala was Kumar's third girlfriend after Kamini Kaushal and Madhubala.
